About Me
There are some stories we grow up with… and some stories grow with us.
Kamban Diaries is the place where both meet.
I’ve always been a quiet Tamil fangirl — the kind who gets lost in ancient lines, who finds comfort in old verses, and who feels more understood by poetry than by people. I love the mystery that Tamil literature carries… the way every poem hides another meaning beneath the one we see.
One Sangam line that has always stayed with me is:
“யாதும் ஊரே, யாவரும் கேளிர்.” — கனிையன் பூங்குன்றனார்
“Every place is my home; every soul is my kin.”
This verse reflects a part of who I am — wandering, curious, always searching for connection through words rather than places.
Kamban Diaries began as a personal sanctuary.
A space where I could rediscover Tamil classics in my own way — slowly, quietly, and without rules. But somewhere along the way, it became more than a personal project.
It became a gift for my child.
One day, when she grows up and asks who we are, where we come from, and what our roots sound like… I want her to find those answers here. To see our language in its most beautiful form. To feel the strength, softness, and wisdom of the voices that came before us.
This blog is my diary of Tamil literature —
a place where I gather verses that healed me, meanings that surprised me, and stories that shaped me.
A place where the old and the new hold hands.
I don’t reveal much about myself — and maybe I never will.
I like the mystery.
Let the words do the talking.
But if you’re here reading this… then maybe you’re a wanderer like me, searching for something ancient to hold on to.
Welcome to Kamban Diaries.
Let’s walk this path through Tamil literature — quietly, curiously, together.
